    Located just 15 minutes from Cape Town City Centre, ABC venue is made up of a unique collection of compelling buildings which form an historical backdrop to a multitude of events. The facilities provide organisers with the ultimate location for quality events ranging from conferences and awards dinners to weddings and cocktail functions for up to 300 guests.
    Recently having undergone a R1 million renovation creating a unique landscaped outdoor event space which works in perfect conjunction with the adjacent Lion Room.

    We strive to be the most reliable and creative venue space in South Africa, aiming to set the highest standards in event management.

  • ABC Venue has recently been awarded a silver in the hospitality section of the recent Cape Town Awards.

    We are a proud members of SAACI and Fedhasa and have been since 2002.

    We have a community development program where a % of our venue hire fee goes towards a creche to support our staff's children while they are at work and an education program to assist previously disadvantaged people in acquiring skills to run their own venue or hospitality business. We activley recycle waste products, buy organic produce where we can, buy from local manufacturers and strive to assist event organisers in keeping their events green!

    The Garden Marquee is a perfect summer wedding venue. Get cosy in winter and set up your event indoors in our Zebra Room with a fantastic fireplace to help set the mood!

Location

  • Located just 15 minutes from Cape Town City Centre, these historical buildings are set in a beautiful garden setting. We are a short distance from the city's major attractions such as the V&A Waterfront and Kirstenbosch Gardens.

    We offer all guests staying overnight complimentary airport transfers. We are able to offer guided tours of the city and peninsula and can assist in making any other transport arrangements you require (a helicopter flip perhaps?).

    For those driving to the venue - we have secure off-street parking with 24 hour security.

    DIRECTIONS FROM CAPE TOWN CITY CENTRE -
    From the V&A Waterfront take the N2 out of the city, keep in the right hand lane and follow the M3 signs. The 4th exit will be Rhodes Avenue, take this exit and turn left when you get to the stop street. 2nd right is Belvedere Street and you will see the gardens in front of you.

  • Each of the function rooms have their own style, although they have been decorated with a contemporary African theme. The rooms have a neutral palette - cream, ivory, chocolate and coffee are used throughout with a splash of red, burnt orange and olive green. Where possible we have brown leather chairs (and we do have chair covers in neutral covers available for those who would prefer).

    Technical Equipment included in your venue hire: OHP, whiteboard, flip chart, VCR, Pa system and screen. We have 1 data projector available on a first come, first serve basis. Should you require it we are able to hire in additional data projectors from our preferred suppliers.

    In case of bad weather we suggest the hiring of a marquee for the Garden area. We also suggest having umbrellas available as there is a short walk from the parking area to the Garden.

Accommodation

  • A breathtaking statement in architecture this historic building is set in one of the oldest gardens in Cape Town. The guest house has 14 rooms which can accommodate up to 30 guests.

    Breakfast can be included with your rate and we do have a small restaurant available for evening meals and lunches.

    Each room comes equipped with telephone, WIFI internet access, ensuite bathroom, airconditioning and tea/coffee making facilities.

  • Our caterers are able to custom design the perfect menu for your event. If you would like to select from our set menus, please see the attached menus. We do have an small restaurant onsite for guests staying overnight. There are also a number of restaurants within a 5 minute drive namely: Surf & Turf Steakhouse, Mama Mia Trattoria, Sanibona African Buffet, Land of Smiles Thai Restaurant to name a few.
  • We have a fully licenced bar. For events we are able to offer a cash bar or on account. Should you wish to provide your own wine there is a corkage fee of R20 per bottle. No alcohol may be brought onto the premises without prior written permission. Should you require extra bar staff, this can be arranged at an additional cost. We do work closely with Shakers, a company providing professional cocktail bar staff.

Facilities and Activities

  • We have the following facilities available to guests and event organisers. A small but efficient business centre, swimming pool, we have secure offstreet parking with 24 hour security.
  • We are located close to many of Cape Town's attractions and can offer tours around the peninsula for those guests that would like to explore the magic of our area.

Pricing Information

  • Book an event with us during the month of June and get 2 nights free accommodation including breakfast for a VIP or the event organiser.
  • Standard venue hire rates are as follows and include standard equipment hire:

    Lion - R500,
    Garden - R2000
  • Additional costs for hiring of equipment is detailed in the attached pricing summary.

    There is a service charge of 10% on all food and beverage.

  • Should you wish to book an event at our venue, please contact Thandi on the details provided above.

    In order to confirm your reservation a 10% deposit will be required. 10 days prior to your event a further 40% of your invoice will be required. The balance is payable after the event. We do accept VISA, MasterCard and payment by bank transfer.
